Sacramento…

I love little get away trips. My friend and I recently checked out Sacramento on Labor Day Weekend.
Day 1:
We stopped at the outlet malls in Vacaville. We learned that super hot weather, crazy sales and the worst food makes a pretty terrible experience. Learn from me folks and take a nice relaxing food break at restaurant in Vacaville. Below are some suggestions. I myself haven’t checked them out, but have peaked my interest for next time.

Vacaville Restaurants:
Merchant & Main Grill & Bar
Villa Corna Nut Tree

Hotel

Governor’s Mansion Historic Park
Right next to your hotel less than a 5 minute walk!

For dinner we check out this great place called Selland’s Market-Cafe. They have this great deal for $25 with a preset meal and a bottle of wine for two. Make sure to grab some dessert here!
Creme Brulee was delicious, I still dream about it.

Then put on your dancing shoes and get ready to dance with the mermaids.

Dive Bar (make sure to check the showtimes)

The music playing was 90s and early 2000s which felt odd with the mermaid, but HEY there are mermaids swimming above the bar.
Also full warning the cocktails are pretty poorly made. Stick to beer at this place.

Day 2:
For Brunch we checked out Fox and Goose the wait was long, but worth it. Make sure to run up to the bar and grab a Bloody Mary while you wait for a table.
On our way out we checked out the California State Capitol and took a tour. Make sure to stop by the Gift Shop on the way out and grab some postcards for your friends and family. I found this lovely book John Muir’s Book of Animals and put a state seal sticker on the inside for my niece.
Made our way back to Berkeley and stopped at our of our favorite Thai Restaurant for dinner.

Must buys for your trip:
Water Bottle
Sun Screen My favorite is Supergoop. This kit is great for travel
